Beth starts the chat-time off with a Squishy story. Squishy “had work to do” in the dirt with his “dirty instrument”. Tawny dips her toes into construction. Sweetness picks up the slack when Lindsay is sick and helps with the house-work. Lindsay is also worried that Clifford is becoming Sweetness Part II. We talk a little about the differences with raising boys.

Krissi celebrates Easter by throwing her back out. A co-worker thinks the cause is a lack of muscle tone. Tawny has her own theory. Peanut has headaches brought on by the color grey. In the middle of conversation, Krissi drops a Hellen Keller joke. I bet you thought you’d never hear anything like that on this podcast.

Then Tawny talks about her struggles with Princess. Do you ever feel like you don’t “like” your child? Then we get into the Easter Bunny discussion and ungrateful kids.

The ladies celebrate Easter with some vodka infused jelly beans. Opinions on this week’s drink were mixed.

During the fabulous find portion of the episode, Lindsay talks about her recent hysterectomy – four days in the hospital, bleeding, the pain, and going back to work. I bet you didn’t know one of the end results of a hysterectomy is a baby…just a different kind.

Tawny brings up a tragedy in our local area. A mobile-home fire in Sherrard, Illinois killed a mother, a daughter and three of the daughter’s friends that were over for a sleepover. There is a fund at a local bank to help the families through this time of loss. For the second episode in a row, we have a listener-submitted topic. Emily asks:

Hi ladies I have a topic for you for on of your shows(if it hasn’t come up before) and hopefully I can benefit from the discussion…my son is 16 months and has been sick off and on, never really recovering fully, since October! He used to be such a good eater and sleeper and now doesn’t do either well! A few questions…does anyone have good sleep tricks, recommendations for immune boosters, and attitude adjustments ? Love listening to you girls, feel like I’m spending time with my girl friends!!!

Krissi talks about some of the long illnesses her kids have gone through and suggested considering taking the little guy to a chiropractor. Lindsay and Beth talk about the eating issues they are going through with their kids and they consider the possibility that it’s an age issue.

This also leads into some discussion on the benefits of Vitamin D, bioflavonoids and child constipation. Then Krissi utters would could be the best quote in the history of this podcast, “I have done way more things with my kids’ butt-holes than you want to know about, people.”

The ladies then get into the sleep/bed-time discussion. This isn’t the first time we’ve talked about this issue and it probably won’t be the last. It is something that parents and their children deal with for many years.

Patrick takes Mimi and Peanut to their check-ups and…Junior ends up needing surgery from the appointment. Beth’s friend had her baby in her hallway this week. She was in the shower and felt like she had to push and was able to make it to the hallway.

Then we get into the “attitude adjustment” portion of Emily’s question. Options discusses are: naughty chair, dropping kids off at “bad girls school”, the Spazz Patrol, and threatening to kill the Easter Bunny.

Tawny received a mystery text/email from “Birdie” for tonight’s main topic. The ladies come up with an acronym and talk about their “TTC” (trying to conceive) time. This leads to a lot of talk about conception, cycles and birth control that might make our male listeners fidget a bit.

St. Patrick’s Day is this upcoming weekend and the MCH ladies are celebrating a few days early with this Irish whiskey drink. Even if you dislike whiskey, you might just like the drink we have named “Irish Ice is Smiling”.

We have an interesting topic tonight. Beth is about to jump into potty training with Squishy. Squishy will be the first MCH boy to go through potty training. Tawny and Lindsay talk about their experiences with Princess, Bruiser and Sweetness.

Because we are completely inexperienced with potty training boys, we asked for your help. We go through some of the suggestions that were submitted on our Facebook page and we play a voicemail from Connie from South Dakota. This call might make you think twice about borrowing books from the library.

Pull-ups, training potties, underwear, toilet paper, Cheerios, books, plastic bed sheets, positive reinforcement…we cover it all.

Princess had her first sleepover. Manicures, pedicures and makeovers, oh my! This makes Tawny want to have her own slumber party. Beth has been having some awful migraines and Tawny has an interesting solution…which is followed up with a real solution…which eventually leads to a potential raffle prize for the upcoming live show.

A discussion that starts off with a kindergarten research project turns into a realization that Lindsay might have had a little more going on in her classroom than she originally thought. In kid news from Lindsay’s house, Sweetness is back in soccer and a little more interested this time around…and she hasn’t cut her hair off recently.
